DuPont Crop Protection

Dr. Carin-Martina Troeltzsch
Sales Manager. DuPont Crop Protection

Following on from my studies for a Masters Degree in Agriculture I did a thesis on cotton seed dressing for my PhD. Part of my PhD studies were completed in the U.S. and based on that experience I developed the ambition to have a business career in a global science company.  As an international company with an excellent reputation, DuPont was the perfect choice for me as it allowed me to do further research and from there to move into the operational business where I had a wide choice of career opportunities.

During my time at DuPont I have further developed my knowledge and skills, through internal and external training programs and have gained extra qualifications like my Six Sigma Black Belt certification, an excellent business qualification. I also have had many opportunities to learn through job rotation, project work and through working with talented colleagues across the world, from whom I have learned a great deal. For example one of my most enriching experiences was a placement in Warsaw as a Marketing Manager for Central and Eastern Europe. I believe therefore that the company invests well in advancing its people, ensuring their talents are recognized and developed to their full potential.

As an important player in the Agriculture and Nutrition industry DuPont is clearly investing heavily in one of the most important future businesses. My work therefore allows me to see the impact this investment has on business and on people’s lives. This, along with the international aspects of the company, is my motivation for working in DuPont. I feel I can truly drive business decisions that make a difference.
